Lagoon

For part of Parker's Birthday present we decided to go to Lagoon's Fright mares. He was So excited to go. We went with Heath's Family and had a great time. Tandi and Dex riding in the boat.

I love this picture. For one Parker's face is classic and then if you look closely you can see cute Tandi in the ride behind him. I loved watching my kids ride the rides. I was suprised at all the ones they went on. Some were a little scary for a four year old. But she was tough! And Parker went on all the adult rides. Even wicked! This kid has no fear. Ok check out Dex in this picture. You can see on his face how happy he was. When the ride was over he had his hands gribbed real tight on the wheel, that I had to come and pry his hands off. Then he cried!! It was so darn cute.Daddy and TandiPumpkin patch mazeThis was all for you bud! We are so glad that we went.

I love this kid!!He also had another party with his cousins. They all have October birthdays.

What has Dex been up to?

Out of my three kids this one is the busiest. He is just always on the go. He is know 10 months and is just loving life. And we are loving him too! How could not love this little guy?
He loves sitting in Heath's truck pretending to drive. Tandi and him spent a lot of time together since Parker is at school everyday. He learned how to crawl about a month ago. In this Family that is a big deal cause Parker never crawled until after he walked and Tandi scooted everywhere.
He also loves the bathroom. I no longer can have the toilet paper on the rolls and the lid should always be down or else you know what. Also he has learned how to flush the toilet. What a smart little guy!I think he is going to be walking soon as well!

Back 2 School

Although I am always sad when summer has ended, it's always exciting when the kids start school. This year Parker is in the first grade. And Tandi is in preschool.

Dex's Surgery

Now this is a unique story!!! I was a little timid about sharing it. But since this is my online scrapbook, I've decided to share it anyway. When Dexter was born we thought that he was absolutely perfect. He was so darn cute! You always hear about the Dr.'s counting the fingers and toes and saying they have 10 of each and everything looks great! Well in our instance nobody noticed that our little Dex was born with an extra thumb. In fact it wasn't until five hours after he was born, Heath noticed his little thumb. He took him down to bathe him and he came back to show me what was wrong. He said "Stacy, don't freak out!" Well I did freak out (a little.) But then I thought to myself "Things could be so much worse!" I was just grateful he was healthy. Well we had to wait till he was at least 6 months old to have his surgery. I anticipated this day. In fact it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do as a mother. Putting my baby's life into the hands of somebody else was terrifying. This is a picture of him right before surgery. I think the miniature gown was darn cute. I wanted to keep it!This is what his thumb looked like right before the surgery. They removed the outside thumb. The inside thumb as you can see was curved to the left, so the Dr. reconstructed it and put a pin through the bone to straighten it out. Getting ready for surgery. I thought he would be so fussy since he had to fast. But he was a happy little guy! Everybody loved him and thought he was so sweet! This was right after the surgery. I was so relieved that everything went ok . I was also surprised at the size of his cast. The cast was so big that he could only wear muscle shirts! He is so darn cute!!

After they removed the cast he had to keep the pin in his thumb for 4 weeks. So I wrapped it up everyday.

It was challenge to try and keep it dry. Especially since it was summertime.

This is what his thumb looks like now. I am very pleased with how it turned out. He is wearing a splint at night to try and straighten it out a little more. I am so grateful that he had such a good Dr.!
